RESTORATIVE MEDICINE AND MEDICAL REHABILITATION IN THE UDMURT REPUBLIC

If you want to restore your own health, it is not necessarily to visit other clinics outside the Udmurt Republic. There, in Kizner region, is situated salutary and comfortable health institution (besides, state-financed organization). HHCI UR “Republican Hospital of Medical Rehabilitation MH UR” treats annually about 4,000 patients from the Udmurt Republic and the other regions of Russia.
- Our medical centre is specialized in restorative and rehabilitation medicine aid for patients under peripheral nervous system diseases, musculoskeletal illness. In other words – we treat those, whose suffers from joints pains, or has problem with spinal column, - said head therapist of RHMR Elena Ovchinnikova.
Guarantee of successful treatment is, for sure, the highest qualification of medics – therapists, masseurs, exercise therapy instructors, our physiotherapy service, and well-operated modern resource base. I think, modernization of public health, which is now discussing in the press, here, in the Udmurt Republic, has started well before then in the rest of the regions of Russia. Already in 2004 with a help of the President of the Udmurt Republic Aleksander Aleksandrovich Volkov our hospital had included in state program “Growth of Udmurtia”, and we were given a new building and equipment, which are be up to Russian standards of medical rehabilitation.
Before 2004 we could help only 1,800 patients to restore their wellness, and now the number of patients of our hospital is approximate to 4,000.
Medical muds and mineral water are used more efficiently, because now we use new preparation system. 70 patients take medical muds and 40-50 patients – medical baths daily. 94,2% from 4,000 patients are noted that feel health improvement, they are also back to work.
We use about 50 methods of physiotherapy and programmable physio-equipment. Mud therapy department and water therapy and underwater massage department, with antler and turpentine baths, are our pride. Also, one of the aim of medics (the treatment should be health, it is obvious) is the treatment should be pleasant, because, it has been proved by the science, a positive emotions increase the immunity, quality and lifespan.
Regional program of modernization of public health in the Udmurt Republic, which is supervised by V.M. Muzlov, allows us to introduce information technologies in our hospital widely and actively – for the patient sake. Doctors have access to medical digital data, take part in web-based seminar, a bundled software selects a medical procedure for particular patient, its duration and compatibility with the other therapeutic factors. The quality of treatment, undoubtedly, is increased in several times.
Our great value is medical staff. Let me name some of them: head of therapy department, therapeutist L.A. Shklyaeva; neurologist N.A. Khramova, physiotherapist V.I. Maeva, head nurse A.Z. Mukhamadieva, massage nurse G.T. Malgina, physiotherapy nurse E.A. Vatlina, treatment room nurse E.N. Plotnikova.
Almost every our doctors have certificates of two (and even three) speciality, take part in All-Russian medical seminars and conferences. One of them is All-Russian conference of the Ministry of Health of Russia “Medical rehabilitation as a cure for mortality rate and disablement reducing” which has been taken place in Cheboksary City last March. Eighty regions of Russia have been presented there. The experience we have got is very useful and we always find an application in our hospital. We work for the people of Udmurt Republic sake and try to meet the requirements of modern restorative medicine and medical rehabilitation.
